Braces Journey - Part 1 • Pre Braces
12:28 AM
So I decided to go do braces due to my missing teeth :P
So what happened was, I had 2 badly decayed tooth that was extracted by the school dental truck.
And after extraction, an X-Ray showed that the adult teeth were too high up
in the palette & won't be coming down.
I was advised to go see an Orthodontist so that I can wear braces to close up the gap.
I went to see my back then usual dentist,
and he say to give it awhile for the teeth to come down naturally.
After n years, the teeth still didn't erupt.
So my cousin & I were both seeing Dr. S at Unity Dental,
and she decided to get her braces done.
Dr. S referred her to Dr. Alfred Cheng & I decided to go see him for a consultation as well.
Consultation was free of charge.
I made an appointment for consultation on 26 January 2019.
So I told him about the 2 missing teeth and he say likely I'll need a surgery to extract them.
As surgery was involved, I had to consult my mum 1st.
I was about to leave when they say they will do an X-Ray (without charge) for me to better assess.
And true enough, the 2 missing teeth were still there.
Dr. Cheng then referred me to a specialist.
But I didn't want to do a surgery to remove the 2 teeth,
so I called in to check if they were able to do the braces without the surgery and he said yes!
I then booked an extraction with Dr. S for 18 February 2019,
and the braces appointment (which has to be a weekday) on 25 February 2019.
18 February 2019
Worked half day before going to for my extraction at 3pm.
Dr. S numb the gums with a cream before giving me 2 jabs.
The jab took 15 minutes to kick in before she check and gave me 1 more jab.
And the tooth was out within 2 minutes.
Supposed to extract 2 teeth but Dr. S suggest I take a break &
do it on 2 separate days as I won't be able to eat and close my mouth properly.
do it on 2 separate days as I won't be able to eat and close my mouth properly.
So will be removing the other one on Saturday, 23 February 2019.
23 February 2019
A was super sweet, he sent me to the clinic for extraction early in the morning.
So the same, Dr. S gave me 2 jabs and the tooth was out quickly.
Had duck porridge for lunch and popiah for dinner.
Will be heading to the orthodontist for braces on Monday.
